A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse who has gone on to complete advanced education and training in the diagnosis, treatment, management and prevention of common medical conditions. Â Nurse Practitioners work very closely with physicians and can do many of the same things physicians do including writing and refilling prescriptions.
The core philosophy of Nurse Practitioners is individualized care. Â That helps them focus on the patient’s conditions as well as how that effects the patient’s well being and their family. Â This often results in fewer prescriptions as well as less expensive treatments. Â Education is a top priority for Nurse Practitioners so patients often feel more a part of the process.
